Early Schools

A future newsletter article and museum display will focus on early schools of Pearl River County. Most of the photos identify the school, but I have come across one photo that is labeled "unidentified."  The photo is attached below.  The fence appears similar to the fence that enclosed Buck Branch school. Of course, this could be a view from the end of the building rather than the front or maybe not.  If anyone has any ideas about the identity of this school please comment or email me.  Also photos and information about other early schools would be most welcome. Welcome to the blog on Pearl River County History.  I will be highlighting historical items from the Pearl River County Historical Society and the society's history museum.  The museum is located in Picayune City Hall and is open by appointment.
The next upcoming event will be the Historical Society meeting on October 14, 2015.  The program will be a slide presentation of the 138th Engineer Pontoon Company's deployment to Korea in 1950.
